Cultural shows featuring colorfully dressed young dancers are alive and well at Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City’s newly-refurbished landmark hotel, which was recently rated first-class hotel by the Department of Tourism.

A long-time tradition at Taal Vista, live presentations of folk and national dances accompanied by rondalla music have become part and parcel of dining at the hotel’s famed Cafe on the Ridge. Aside from offering the best view of Taal Lake and Volcano, the cafe treats guests to a wide array of international dishes whipped up by its resident chef.

Performing in three sets during lunchtime is the Sanghaya Dance Ensemble. Sanghaya is a spin-off of the cultural dancers who used to perform at the former Taal Vista Lodge. Four suites consisting of Northern, Southern, Visayan, and Tagalog dances are mounted by Sanghaya.

Another group, the Bughaw Folkloric Dance Troupe, performs fire dance, Hawaiian, Tahitian and authentic Filipino tribal dances every Saturday night as guests partake of a sumptuous buffet dinner.

On weekend nights, an acoustic band plays music as you like it at the scenic Lobby Lounge. A trio called Nature Rhythm serenades guests at Cafe on the Ridge daily.

A property of SM Investment Corporation and managed by Fuego Hotels Management and Properties, Taal Vista Hotel has 127 brand-new rooms, 10 function rooms, a swimming pool, spa, and other amenities.
