Not every hotel in Tagaytay City can claim it has facilities like a bowling alley, a badminton court, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a spa, a billiards gaming area, and even a supermarket!
Tagaytay Country Hotel, located along Aguinaldo Highway within the sprawling Olivarez Commercial Complex, has all of these and more. Only a few meters away from the Silang rotunda, TCH is probably the only hotel in the cool mountain city that offers such a one-stop-shop.
Being a member of the Olivarez Group of Companies, the 68-room hotel, needless to say, has easy access to all the aforementioned sister establishments as they’re all within minutes from each other.
"We really want to project ourselves as a country home where everything is within walking distance," declares general manager Julius Q. Judalena. Tagaytay Country Hotel boasts a homey ambience. Its furnishings, especially in the studio rooms (with kitchen) have been fashioned from rattan or bamboo to further stress that look of home. Many of the furniture in the other areas of the hotel are made from old wood.
Opened in year 2000, the hotel has 16 superior rooms, 11 de luxe rooms, 20 studios, 1 suite, and several function rooms, including the 350-seater El Caviteño Ballroom. All rooms are equipped with cable TV, mini-bar, hot and cold shower, NDD/IDD telephone, and individual air-conditioning. Room rates run anywhere from R2,200 to R5,000.
Judalena says the hotel’s proximity to places of leisure and sports attracts guests to TCH, formerly known as Tagaytay Country Inn. The four badminton courts next door are quite modern with their Taraflex flooring. La Costa Spa offers foot spa, body massage, Dead Sea salt scrub, sauna, among other services.
Tagaytay Country Hotel (tel. 046-4133310) is operated by The Olivarez Group of Companies and owned by former Parañaque Mayor Pablo Olivarez. It has been rated a standard hotel by the Department of Tourism (DoT) and a 4-star hotel by the Philippine Travel and Tours, Inc.
