Hilton Cebu names new GM and sales/marketing director

Hilton International has recently appointed Peter Hogh Pedersen as general manager of Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa.

Pedersen joins the international hospitality chain’s first and only Hilton Worldwide Resort in the Philippines, from Hilton Sharks Bay Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt where he was responsible for the entire pre-opening set-up, through the launch. Pedersen has been responsible for the management of the hotel operations at Hilton Sharks Bay Resort since 2001.

At Hilton hotel in Egypt, Pedersen’s accomplishments include bringing the resort a Golden Award at the 2004 Mena Travel Awards, and counts exceeding the GOP by 58 percent in 2004 alone, as well as maintaining Revpar growth of 66 percent year on year between 2003 and 2004.

Pedersen’s appointment follows closely on the heels of another senior executive level hire at Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa. Maria Lourdes (Odette) E. Aguilar was appointed Director of Sales and Marketing, responsible for driving leisure, corporate and MICE business from within the Philippines and key source markets to the Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa. Aguilar’s extensive experience in the hospitality industry spans nearly 20 years, beginning from the front office and sales departments of an American hotel chain. She later led the sales teams in the preopening of The Richmonde Hotel and Astoria Plaza, both of which are five-star, deluxe city hotels in the business district of Ortigas, Pasig City. Prior to her assuming the position of director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa, Aguilar was the director of sales and marketing at Subic International Hotel in Subic Bay, Olongapo City.

Echoing Pedersen’s passion and drive, Aguilar is dedicated to her profession, having participated in various training sessions in a multitude of sales, marketing, and hospitality-related disciplines throughout her professional career.
