See live celestial show right from your hotel room

There are a lot of things in store at Seven Suites Hotel Observatory this month of August. First of all, a spectacular celestial show can be witnessed on Aug. 12-13 as the Perseids meteor shower will be seen in the sky. With the aid of the Seven Suites’ telescope, guests will see it clearly and -- as the popular belief goes -- "make a wish."

"On a given hour, we could see around 20-30 meteors. Like all meteor showers, the Perseids are caused by a particular comet. This particular meteor shower comprises debris coming from the Comet Swift-Tuttle," said Ramon Acevedo, Seven Suites’ in-house astronomer.

"For this year’s Perseids, a waxing gibbous moon will interfere observations but the shower can produce some fireballs or bright meteors that is worth observing," he said.

This "heavenly" show can actually be seen in the confines of your own bed -- at Seven Suites’ newly refurbished rooms dubbed as "Presidential Suite" and "Honeymoon Suite."

"The Presidential Suite is a luxurious suite with an adjoining lounge and entertainment area. This is really perfect for groups, friends and barkada who want to bond overnight and have a relaxing and memorable time," said AJ Caraan, Seven Suites’ hotel manager.

AJ recommends the Honeymoon Suite when viewing the Perseids since the newly-built room has full-glass panels as its walls. Since it is located at the upper deck of the hotel, guests are witness to the bright lights of the metropolis and the twinkling of the stars in the endless dark sky during nighttime.
