Celebrating Laguna’s bounty
Source: Manila Bulletin

It was a week-long celebration of street dancing, float parades, beauty pageants, a variety of Filipino games, and trade exhibits.

ANILAG from the words "Ani ng Laguna" is a yearly festival that pays tribute to both the harvest and richness of the province of Laguna. The festival was held recently at the Provincial Capitol compound in Sta. Cruz, Laguna to celebrate the uniquely diverse assets and facets that Laguna takes pride in.

Adding to the unique flavor of the festival is the creation of "the longest espasol in the world" which attempts to enter the Guinness Book of Records. Last year it was the attempt to create the largest buko pie that kept the townspeople busy.

Trade exhibits showcased authentic products of each town, alongside with corporations operating successfully in Laguna’s technopark area.

Laguna is a province that abounds in historic attractions, eco-tourism destinations, quality native crafts, unique food specialties, and opportunities for dynamic economic growth. Thru the efforts of Laguna Governor Teresita S. Lazaro, ANILAG festival, now on its third year, is the governor’s humble expression of offering and thanksgiving for the bountiful produce of the province.
