More than a farm, it is a destination. Paradizoo Theme Farm in Panungyan, Mendez, Cavite is a nature destination for people in search of something different and interesting to do.
The farm is a 10-hectare rolling terrain which boasts of different areas like a farm animal breeding area, a vegetable and flower farm, a camp site, log cabin, tent house pavilion, recreational area and the perpetual cemetery.
Paradizoo is envisioned to be an integrated self-sustaining farm, offering a preview of local and imported animals including goats, sheep, camel, alpaca, pigs, rabbits, ostriches, horses, and deer with more of the four-legged species. A lively golden retriever merrily welcomes visitors.
Its gardens are full bloom, akin to a a rambling English garden with its profusion of colorful flowers and plants — milflores, santan, forget–me–not, purple crumble, acalupa, sundrop, bougainvilla, scarlet beauty, red bandera Espanola, salvia, lantana, golden duranta, and rose pitimini — all complementing one another in a special corner of Paradizoo.
Besides the floral and vegetable exhibits are organic farm products, a butterfly garden, honey bee farm, the pet cemetery, farm animal showcases, landscaping, flower arrangement and backyard farming.
THE FARM
The vegetable farm, approximately 5,000 square meters in area, showcases seedling technique, transplanting, plant nutrition, cultural management, irrigation and water management, tunnel type greenhouse system etc. The organically grown assorted vegetables are for sale and for distribution. It is planted to a number of flowering shrubs and fruit trees like bananas, pineapples, mangoes, coconut trees, jackfruit honeydew melon and papaya.
There is practically no wastage as all the animals eat the grass as well as organic waste from the plants such as banana and other fruit peelings, including coconut meat.
The growing and care of vegetables are worthy of citation in agribusinesss. It uses the best technologies from Taiwan, such as the commercial production of selective vegetables using F1 hybrid varieties, soil and land cultivation, layout and bed formation, basal fertilization and mulching.
With such a diverse menu of attraction and potential activities, Paradizoo is ideal for educational, outdoor and group outings, specially for nature, flower and animal lovers. With its cool, invigorating climate much like Tagaytay’s, the farm is an ideal venue for learning about the sources of man’s food supply and how living things are interrelated and can happily co-exist.
