Lufthansa German Airlines recently mounted ‘eXperts eXplorer Asia 2007’ for travel agents who have most visited and utilized its official travel agent loyalty program website eXperts (www.lhexperts.com).
Held in Chiang Mai, Thailand in June, the event was participated in by 55 travel agents from 10 countries, including Doreen Concepcion of Asiaworld Vacations, Inc. and Maria Cristina Mirasol of AnscorCasto Travel Corp. from the Philippines.
The "Amazing Race’’style Chiang Mai eXplorer Rally also included a visit to a traditional Thai hilltribe village, as well as an enjoyable elephant trek. The last evening was spent at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiang Mai, where participants were treated to a lavish outdoor dinner. The highlight of the closing night was the sending of 21 "Kum Loy’’ (floating lanterns) to the sky, representing the 21 destinations where Lufthansa flies to in Asia-Pacific.
Lufthansa’s eXperts website is a web-based tool designed exclusively for front line travel agents to provide them with up-todate product information, news, booking tips, special fares, quizzes and much more. eXperts members have 24/7 access to the password-protected website, where they can send their waitlist requests, request group quotes, provide feedback and view the latest Lufthansa news, including fleet and classes.
