Who wouldn’t want to go to Baguio on a romantic weekend trip? Baguio City has long been one of the country’s favorite romantic hideaways, and couples will surely enjoy spending time together exploring its natural beauty.

Some people consider Baguio one of the best honeymoon sites in the Philippines.

"Baguio is the place to be. The ambiance is just perfect -- the climate, the tall pine trees, and all. The people in Baguio are also very nice," chorused a couple who just had their wedding and honeymoon in Baguio.

Macoy and Danielle del Pilar, were recently married at The Manors in Baguio, said they chose to have their wedding there since they wanted a chance to bring their families and friends together for a weekend to reconnect away from the stress and busy schedules in Manila.

Macoy adds that the location served as a perfect backdrop for their wedding pictures.

"What made it special was that many of our guests realized that they haven’t been to Baguio in a while, so they took the opportunity to also reminisce about the good old days. Everyone was in a very festive and happy mood throughout the wedding weekend," he and Danielle beamed.

The couple enjoyed their stay so much that they said "they would definitely consider" Baguio for their next date, or even a second honeymoon. "We also plan on bringing our future children to Baguio so our kids, too, will experience the place as we experienced it," they promised.

On a more practical note, Danielle adds that Baguio also provides a host of choices in terms of accommodations, entertainment and places to eat. This makes wedding--and honeymoon--planning much easier.

Budget hotels, like Microtel Inns & Suites, are just a stone’s throw away from bus terminals.

Couples can also opt for local fare, or choose from higher-end restaurants -- all of which are still easily within reach.

"Baguio food prices are also significantly less expensive than Manila prices" Danielle says, "so one can get much more for less. More importantly, it has a romantic feel to it as well, maybe because it’s nicer to cuddle with your loved one when it’s cooler," she giggles.

If you are from Metro Manila, the only "difficulty," would be getting to Baguio. Flying up to Baguio is usually the fastest way to get there, but it is also expensive. If you choose to drive up to the city, the trip can be long and tiring. You can take a bus, although not all bus liners offer convenience and excellent service.

Couples planning weddings though can rent one of Victory Liner’s deluxe buses to bring their wedding entourage and guests to Baguio.

Victory Liner promises to make your trip a breeze. You can call or visit the Victory Liner bus terminals nearest you even up to 30 days before your trip and book advanced reservations for your romantic weekend trip.

Just give the ticket reservation agent your preferred departure date, time, and the number of passengers, and leave your name and contact number. The agent will then give you your seat numbers.
