The Travel Tour Expo (TTE) has unveiled a record lineup of 227 exhibitors, making this year’s edition of the expo as the biggest gathering of international and domestic travel and tourism companies and agencies.

Considered as the country’s premiere annual travel and tourism event, the 17th installment of the expo dubbed “Ready, Jet Set, Go!” will be a showcase of the best products and services the travel and tourism industry can offer.

TTE chairman and former Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) president Jose Clemente III said the expo remains the preferred venue of industry players.

“The Travel Tour Expo has grown in stature over the years. It is the one time of the year when everyone in the travel and tourism industry comes together in one venue. They join not just to offer new products and services but also to promote Philippine tourism,” Clemente said.

For her part, PTAA president Ma. Paz Alberto said the TTE has remains as one of their primary vehicles in boosting the country’s tourism industry.

“Together with business process outsourcing, tourism can be considered as the country’s leading sunshine industry. The Travel Tour Expo, even if held only for three days every year will have a ripple effect on everyone working in the travel industry,” Alberto said.

Confirmed to participate in the expo are 27 airlines, four cruise operators, 19 tourism agencies, 65 hotels and resorts, 42 tour operators, two educational institutions, 23 lifestyle companies, three global distribution system providers, five insurance companies, four theme parks, and 12 food companies.

Clemente said the TTE will follow its tradition of offering highly discounted travel packages that will cover the entire year.

“It is going to be a one-stop-shop for traveling public. Whatever their travel plans are for the year, the Travel Tour Expo would have the perfect package for them,” Clemente said.

To open on February 19, the expo will again use three of the four halls at the ground floor of the SMX Convention Center with projections that visitors this year could reach an all time high.

Last year, the TTE posted a record 70,000 visitors. With the expected uptick in travel this year, the PTAA is looking at close to 100,000 visitors to the event.

This year’s edition of the TTE is sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Philippine Airlines, Qatar Airways, Icon Graphics, and Via.
