Prive at Fort Bonifacio was packed to the brim as John Paras, the designer who has been getting the nod of the metro’s fickle fashion crowd, wowed the audience with a fashion show that showcased his designs and love for the colors black and gold.
Sensual gowns, sleek designs highlighted his collection as muses from young showbiz personalities, business women, sports enthusiasts, and media personalities graced the runway to showcase Paras’ creativity.
GMA Talent Center’s top young singers, Julie Anne San Jose and Frencheska Farr, were seen walking the catwalk, their confidence shining through. I always like watching bright young things; the metro needs new faces to spice up our fashion scene!
San Jose, fondly called Asia’s Pop Princess for both winning the Globe Tatt People’s Choice Award and for her certified gold debut album, was especially fond of Paras. “He’s a really nice person,” the 18-year-old YouTube sensation said of the designer, “and I really love his designs!”
Farr, who made waves in the local entertainment scene after being proclaimed Grand Champion in “Are You the Next Big Star?” said, “I was excited and grateful to be chosen as one of John’s muses.” She made no qualms in making known that the dress John made for her that night will be gladly taken home by her.
Other muses that graced the ramp were hardworking and amiable Monique Jamlang of Strip and Browhaus Manila, Lisa Ugarte-Tirona of Party Perfect, and travel entrepreneur Chesca Alberto. Also among John’s elegant inspirations were personal friends Angelique La’O, my colleague and good friend Cheryl Tiu of Lifestyle Asia, porcelain-skinned and all around super nice woman Anna Palabyab Rufino, and Jerika Ejercito of Ejercito, Inc.
