verve room, insomnia, 10 years after - lyn navarro

The best bars in Manila are found in Malate namely, Verve Room, Insomnia,10 Years After

and a lot more. Why? They are the best in town because of the drinks--they have everything

you want and the people are cool. They don't care!!!Unique unlike in other places.....

tequila joe's - archie rodriguez

To my knowledge the best resto and bar in Manila today is Tequila Joe's.It has an incredible atmosphere that makes you feel

as though you are in Arizona. They have over 150 different kinds of tequila and the food is incredible.Servings are larger if

not comparable to TGIF and is much more reasonable. You've got to check it out.I believe the address is Makati Ave.

corner Kalayaan.Look it up.

"rock" lobster or "sushi delight" - paul flamiano

well...it depends on the kind of bars you want to go to.

personally...i like rock live bands...so go to...

Club Dredd

70's Bistro

ChatterBox

Kampo West

but if you like to meet beautiful women, then go to...

T.G.I. Fridays

Hard Rock Cafe

StreetLife

viva venezia

i think the best bar ever in manila is Venezia which is owned by Louis Ysmael.

(same proprietor as euphoria) Venezia has the bets music (70's,80's and

european music like Fatima Rainey..etc..) they serve dinner and the food is

really good. The service better than any place i know, and the crowd is great.

The crowd is more of the older type unlike Mars or ElCirkulo(San MIg..etc..).

Venezia will always be he best bar for me

glorietta glory - katrina m. romano

For me the best bars and restaurants are located in Makati,

Three of the best bars for me are Zoo,Studebakersand Hard Rock Cafe of

course!

Studebakers because its like everythings on it....you can find a disco and a

bar where you can hang out and drink with your friends.

Zoo coz the ambiance is just so cool you get to meet a lot of people and you

could see live bands playing...Hard Rock Cafe also because of it's variety of

drinks, foods, bands, music ......EVERYTHING.

alive & kicking at seaside market

Are you craving for the freshest seafood along metro Manila?Try Seaside Market along Roxas Boulevard (Baclaran).

This is the place where you pick the seafood that you are craving for-whether it's the Lobster, Lapu-lapu, crabs, Sugpo,

mussels, etc. they are all alive and fresh. Then you can tell them how you want it cooked and they cook them for you.I even

saw some Tagalog Chicken the last time I was there.I even saw some movie celebrities and also

politicians. You can either take them home or you can eat on the second floor of the building

where they have a small dining area. You have to share tables since I think I only counted 6 tables. But oh, my, the food was

so deliciously prepared. If you are a bit careful about using the utencils

out there, you can ask someone to pack up a picnic basket for you to use when you get there.Remember-this is a market so it

is slippery-but the entire market is really clean compared to a regular "Talipapa".

If you are in Mandaluyong and cruising around Shaw Blvd. between JRC and Welfareville along Acacia lane, watch for

Triple V's Presyong Kaibigan which has the same concept as Seaside but they include meat in their shopping list (I'm talking

about beef, pork, chicken and kambing!).Happy eating!!!!!!

filipino food's still the best! - gigi rono

1.Casa Illonga- Quiapo/some malls Try their Batchoy! and Pangat

2.Lola Asiang's - Makati Try the Binagoongan

3.Casa Filipina - AlabangTry their seafood boullabaise

4.Pinausukan - MakatiStill the best crispy pata

5.streetside vendor - CaviteLechon Manok

If ever you go back to the Philippines, try these places and let me know

what you think.......... busog na busog!

hanging out with friends at friends - reg hernandez

One of the best bars in Metro Manila is called Friends Music Bar. They have two braches - one

along Pasay Road, Makati and the other at St. Francis Square, Ortigas Center (behind Megamall).

The one in Ortigas is newer and bigger. Ambiance is relaxed and the music is diverse. They probably

have the widest selections of Jazz, Pop, Soul, R&B, folk, and alternative. The staff is friendly and

service is personalized. Customers are treated to different promos and the single-malt scotch

collection is good.

Garden Room - Amity Young

I would recommend the Garden Room, because it is expensive in the States to get a house for two people to have dinner in.

Dancing is allowed. Bringing of CDs, tapes and wine--no corkage--is also allowed. The food is not too different and not too

exotic--fish with capers, pasta, Caesar's salad, non-stop not-too-sweet fresh fruit juice, cute little pastries with different fruit

e.g. banana toppings, coffee. The vegetables in the salad are segregated so one can choose which ones and how much of each

vegetable one wants to eat.The dressing is also on the side.P 650 to P 700 per person with plenty of leftovers.Next time I

go, I might bring three people with me and order two or three of the set menus instead of ordering four.No service charge, no

VAT.The tourist would probably need to bring a local who knows his way around and follow these instructions, coming from

the North: EDSA, before LRT, turn right at Equitable Bank/Zamora St., turn at 3rd street--Protacio, 1st eskinita Tramo, and

look for open gate, second house inside the compound, I think.Reservations should be booked more than days in advance.

My friend, who referred me to the place, told me to book a week in advance.I tried to book a few days before, no luck.Call

Bootsie Veloso at 843-62-03.

Triple Treat : THAI, Filipino and Chinese - Kane Choa

If you go for Thai food, then you must try S.R. Thai.It has more than 8 branches in Metro Manila, Cavite and Laguna. They

are reasonably priced and the servings are generous.Don't forget to try their house specialties like Seafood in Chili Milk

Sauce, Bagoong Rice, Pad Thai, Hofan in Seafood Gravy, Chicken Pandan Rice, Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet, Chili Squid and

Seafood Fried Rice at only P55.00 each. The best way to enjoy it is to go to its original brances namely Dapitan (at the back

of UST) or P. Noval St. (in front of UST P.Noval Gate). It is more of a student canteen. It is always jampacked during lunch

time, so you better eat before 11 am or after 2 pm to get good seats.Authentic Thai cuisine at its best, better than all the fancy

Thai restaurants in Metro

Manila.I swear you'll crave for more after trying it.

If you want to hang out with your friends, I suggest Daungan in Quezon City (in front of Camelot Hotel).I find their iced tea

and sizzling sisig among the best in Metro Manila. The ambience is cozy, since it is open-air and they have a swimming pool.

Videoke is open for all. During peak nights, it would take a long while before you get to sing since they only give two slots per

table per round.Another nice place to dine is Davao Inihaw along Tomas Morato Street, try their inihaw na

balires which is the best in town.

In Malate area, don't fail to try Casa Armas' Thai King Crabs. They are soooh juicy, steamed in garlic and butter. It is quite

expensive though at P100.00/100 gram as compared to Chinese restaurants in Ongpin where you can get the same dish at a
