QUESTION NO. 5:

where are best Places to buy "Pasalubongs" (gifts and souvenirs) like

pastillas, barong tagalogs, and handicrafts? And why?

Quiapo bargains - Didi

I think it is in Quiapo , wherein you can see the best handmade souvenirs

,pasalubongs, from diff nations in the phils. You can see avariety of

sweets , and delicacies of diff provinces. Plus you can have it in a very

cheap price.....

sweet Sto. Tomas - Zosimo Alvar

One of the best places to buy pastillas and other sweets or pastries is

located in Sto. Tomas, Batangas along the highway going to Manila.

Delicious and affordable prices.

Meanwhile, Barong Tagalog is available in Taal, Batangas.

Original and good quality.

under the Quiapo bridge - Ren Magpayo

For non-perishable items, the best place to go is under the Quiapo

Bridge. They sell all kinds of handicrafts - from Capiz lamps, native

hats, brroms from Baguio, woodcarvings, wooven mats, - for reasonable

prices. On Carlos Palanca Street are all kinds of Barong Tagalog

material you can take to any tailor, for the best fit. They also have

lots of Chinese Ham, preserves fruits, near that area. Then there are

cheap fruits along Carriedo. All these in the vicinity of Quiapo Church.

For pastillas, espasol, buco pie, sweet tamarind, you can venture

to Calamba, Laguna, going towards Los Banos or going towards Batangas

City. Take note, though, that at least 100 places claim to have the

best, the first, & the original buco pie.

wow! tutuban!

Tutuban Mall in Manila has the best bargains when it comes to "Pasalubongs"

from handicrafts to designer clothes at a bargain price. This mall used to be

a railroad terminal and is now fully air conditioned and has expanded to 2

major buildings and one of them just opened recently. There is ample parking

all over the place including a large covered parking lot. When you get tired,

the foodcourt offers a lot of the filipino delicacy you have been craving all

these years. You have to go early since traffic gets heavier during the rush

hours.Claro M. Recto gets crowded by 10:00AM in the morning.Good hunting

for bargains!!!!!! Just be careful with the "Mando's"(Pickpockets!)!!!!!
