Norman Dreo.
Dreo is the first prize awardee in the 1995 Metrobank National

bayan-bayanan. His major piece--reproduced in the exhibit
invitation--provides an overview of the prototypical community.
The various details of that large-scale painting are then
individually developed in paintings themselves. Dreo recycles
construction materials into his larger oil paintings. Pieces of
wood, scraps of wire, steel pipes and bottle caps, among others,
are incorporated, often in a similar surroundings and usage.

FILIPINIANA. "Indio'' is a collection of new paintings by
Antonio Lea?o. Culled from countless references of
turn-of-the-century photographs, books and postcards, the
exhibit is a tribute to the indio, a much maligned term used by
the Spaniards to refer to Filipinos during their regime.
The paintings in the collection exhibit limited palette, either
monochromes in several earth tones, red or sepia, appearing like
faded photographs, browned by age even replete with folds and
creases
