Rajah Tours has bagged
another plum from
London-based Insight
Vacations, the world's
number one coach tour
operator, with the
launching of Insight
Vacations 2000 program
for the next millennium.
Air France is the new airline
partner of Rajah Tours in
promoting Insight Vacations
and tours worldwide for the
year 2000 and beyond.

received the prestigious Sales Achievement Award 99 from John
Boulding, Insight Vacations managing director-UK/Europe, and
Robin Yap, Insight Vacations regional director-Asia, during the
launching at the ballroom of the Intercontinental Hotel in Makati
City.
On hand during the affair were Jose Clemente Jr., chairman of
Rajah Group of Companies; Gerard Lanfrey, general manager of
Air France-Philippines; Alice San Juan, executive vice-president of
Rajah Travel Corp., and members of the diplomatic corps.
Yap cited Rajah Tours for keeping up with the dedication,
pressure and commitment amid the most trying times when
almost all businesses, including the travel/trade industry,
experienced a staggering slump.
As Insights general sales agent (GSA) in the Philippines for so
many years now, 27-year-old Rajah Tours pioneered in inbound
travel, which later branched out into several companies engaged in
tours, conventions and transportation.
Under the helm of husband-and-wife team Jose Clemente, Jr.
and Alejandra Clemente Rajah Tours management will soon be
turned-over to the couples three children, Jose Clemente III, Aileen
and Marilen.
Boulding enthusiastically reported that Insights presence
worldwide has been strongly felt, especially in Asia, through the
unwavering efforts of its GSAs, like that of Rajah Tours.
Insight Vacations was privileged to receive four awards in a span
of five years despite the rough times, and were still moving ahead.
I think the year 2000 will be best for Asia as there are indications
of strong recovery for major Asian markets, said Boulding.
The Philippines alone, according to Boulding, posted come 45
percent increase this year over last year. It reflects a more
favorable business climate for travel and trade, not only in the
country, but Asia-wide as well.
As Insight Vacations takes on the position of a premium brand,
Boulding announced the launching of the companys new stylized,
exciting, quality, more flexible and value-for-money tour packages
for the year 2000 and onward, covering Eastern Mediterranean,
USA and Canada, Britain and Europe.
To make Insight Vacations a lot better, Boulding said all of the
programs itineraries have been revitalized by getting feedbacks
from Insights more than 500 agents and 3,500 clients worldwide.
We have tailored our programs to give our clients both rational and
emotional benefits because Insight is the art of touring in style,
Boulding said.
Yap also mentioned the new adds-on to Insights new itineraries
that cater more to their clients preferences such as Europe 2000s
Oberammergau in Germany with 16 itineraries to choose from.
The millennium celebrations such as the enduring years of
Christianity in Europe, the World Expo 2000 and the Battle of
Waterloo, are among the other tours. A fully escorted stay-put
vacation will include two nights in Rome or six nights in Venice at
Lido Hungaria Hotel.
More features include exploration of country roads in Britain as
well as the new country roads experience for 15 days in Spain and
Portugal.
Among the improvements in the year 2000 itineraries are upgraded
hotels in central locations and additional significant itineraries
pegged at prices lower than this years packages.
Eastern Mediterranean destinations include the historic Egypt,
Israel and Jordan. Insight announced the increase of flights and
departures to these trips. The company also gives special family
savings for the new USA and Canada trips and vacations.
Overall, Yap said, the new features and itineraries that Insight
Vacations has custom-tailored according to the clients
specifications also cater to the Asian and Filipino markets.
Twenty-one year-old Insight Vacations is a part of a major
international tourism group providing vacations to more than a
million guests yearly. It has offices in the United Kingdom,
Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, South Africa and
Singapore.
