Aqua Tropical Sports Resort (ATSR) in Anilao caters not only to divers but to non-divers
looking for a romantic setting to get away from it all as well as company excursions,
either day trips or overnight packages. Moreover, its also a favourite site for seminars,
conference and conventions.
One of these was the recently concluded international convention of the Association of
Diving Schools International (ADSI), the first time this association's convention has ever
been held outside of Japan.. The convention was a great success and was particpated
in by members and delegates from ADSI member countries in the Asia Pacific region.
ATSR is a favourite diving haven of students and certified of the Philippines' prominent
SCUBA instructors Dave Santos, Johnny Buencamino, Hernel Castillo, Joy Cubelo and
Bobby Manas of Whitetip Divers as well as diving students and divers from Scub World
Dive Shop.
ATSR is also commended by Mabini Mayor Ruben Amurao for being the pioneer in the
Philippines' SCUBA diving tourist industry. He further commended ATSR's effort,
resourcfulness and initiative in putting Anilao on the tourism map as one of the major
dive tour destinations in the country. The resort's guests are mostly tourists and after 30
years, ASTR still enjoys a large share of the international market, with 80% of its guests
being foreigners, 90% of whom are Japanese, Taiwanese or Korean.
On top of this, ATSR is a diving and training center of ADSI, PADI, NAUI and SSI. It also
conducts SCUBA lessons for beginners and advanced divers.
