Great Jubilee Year 2000 ends Jan. 6

With the closing of the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000

on Jan. 6, 26 million pilgrims would have converged

in Rome as well as in the Holy Land. This 26th Holy

Year in history opened in joy and thanksgiving for the

grace of God manifested in the incarnation of the Son

of God. It celebrates the 2000th anniversary of the

birth of Jesus along with the beginning of the new

millennium.

Among the final activities are the Solemnity of the

Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8 and the Jubilee of the

Entertainment World on Dec. 17.
