Fashion With a Cause: An event to remember

The much talked-about charity event for ABS-CBN Foundation’s Bantay Bata 163 — fashion show and party dubbed “Fashion with a Cause’’ – was held at Dish, PowerPlant Mall last March 2.

Party people of all ages began pouring into the trendy venue starting 7 p.m., and the entire place was packed by 9 p.m.

The fashion show (directed by Ogee Atos with production assistant Raffy Tesoro) of hip brands Mango, Topshop/Miss Selfridge, Urban & Co., A/X, DKNY Jeans and Technomarine watches featured young and gorgeous models Jenny Rockett, Ingrid Holm, Tara Macken, Alex Escat, Marilen Ortoll, Mica Lagdameo, Georgia Schultz, Rocio Olbes, Joann Mercado, Ken Lacia, Stephanie Kienle, Jackie Corres, Helen Frickie, Sara Polverini, Raoul Olbes, David Rapaport, Jon Herrera, John Yulo and Phill Wadds.

Right after the show, NBK top DJ Manolet Dario started spinning for the large crowd and turned the party-level up a notch. By the time up-and-coming DJ’s Gutsy AU and Bonz began weaving their sets of tribal and progressive house music, the crowd was in a state of euphoria. As if that wasn’t enough, DJ Elmer Dado capped the party off with his signature brand of dance music.

Everybody left with a slight buzz thanks to the most mind-boggling open bar since the start of the millennium and the endless flow of Stolichnaya Vodka courtesy of Ralph’s Wines & Spirits. Kudos to the young masterminds of this event, producers Antonia Martel & Marga Villanueva (seniors at the International School-Manila) and associate producer Chinkee Clemente for a highly successful event. A big “Thank You” to sponsors MAC, Frank Provost, Shakey’s, McDonald’s, Figaro, Harrison Plaza and C! Magazine.
