Traders Hotel sizzles with D’ Blacknote Band





Traders Hotel Manila’s Lobby Lounge sizzles once again as D’Blacknote Band entertains guests nightly with its impressive repertoire of sentimental ballads and pop tunes popularized by Whitney Houston, Roberta Flack, Angela Boffil, The Corrs, Britney Spears, Cristina Aguilera, Spice Girls, Mariah Carey.





D’ Blacknote Band is composed of Abner Gundaya on keyboards, Mary Anne Yabes, Eloisa Castillo and Carlen Mendenilla on vocals. The highly versatile group sings in different languages. They perform nightly at the Lobby Lounge except Sundays. Showtime is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. during weekdays and 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends.

The Richmonde Hotel guests will go on a gastronomical journey to a world of dining pleasures at The Grill where a buffet spread of international cuisine is served at its best.





Gourmets can savor superb dishes from a wide assortment of soups, salads, appetizers, sushi, pasta, entrees, meat carving, and desserts popular here and abroad.





Among the delectable Asian favorites featured in the buffet feast are Sushi, Sashimi and Thai Chicken Wings in Spiced Coconut Milk; mouth-watering Western winners such as Roast Beef and Asparagus Platter, Roasted Rib-eye with Red Wine Sauce; and scrumptious European-inspired treats like Penne and Crab meat with Sundried Tomato, Greek Salad, Chicken Galantine with Honey Cherry Sauce, and Herb Crusted Leg of Lamb with Mint Au Jus.





This food trip around the world is available during lunchtime, Sundays thru Fridays, at R500 ++ per person.

Yuletide treats now available at Midtown











When Christmas season nears, folks are reminded of old traditions and homegrown Filipino delicacies such as sumptuous bibingka and puto bumbong that are now available at the Manila Midtown Hotel until December.





Each heavenly servings of bibingka, a steamed rice with salted egg, margarine, cheese and grated coconut; and puto bumbong, a purple-hued rice cake smothered with melted butter, grated coconut and cheese, are prepared in customary charcoaled fire oven to capture the old taste. These are best eaten with a steaming cup of salabat (ginger ale) or chocolate.





Guests can order in any of the hotel outlets, The Vogue Coffeeshop, Maxims Pastry shop or the Orchid Bar during 2 p.m. until 10 pm.
