Big fare discounts of as much as 80 percent of the cost of the return trip await loyal passengers of Philtranco.

The country’s pioneering bus company since May 16 has offered generous discounts on roundtrip fares for all its routes between Pasay to Tacloban City in recognition of passenger loyalty and continued patronage.

The discounts range from 40-80 percent off the regular rate.

Under its banner marketing program “Ticket Tipid,” members of Philtranco Privilege Plus get to enjoy this huge promo fares simply upon purchase of their tickets and presentation of their membership cards.

Same day travel ticket purchase nets up to 40 percent cut off regular fares. Tickets bought a week in advance of travel is discounted at 80 percent on the return trip.

The discount promo is applicable in all airconditioned buses and Gold Service motorcoaches.

Philtranco president Alejandro Yague, Jr. said the promotion was launched to coincide with the company’s celebration of its 88 years in the transport business.

“As the country’s first and oldest bus company, we believe we need to reciprocate our passengers goodwill offering them big travel discounts especially during these times should be very appropriate,” Yague said.

Reservation counters at Philtranco’s various stations in Bicol and Tacloban have reported huge Ticket Tipid purchase turnouts.

Non-privilege members who cannot avail of the fare discounts have been encouraged to enroll, and this has swelled the total to beyond 170,000 card-carrying members.

Philtranco is the only bus company in the Philippines with a truly national network. Its bus-cum-ferry services enable passengers to travel by land from Southern Luzon and reach Davao or Cagayan de Oro City in Mindanao through Eastern Visayas without switching or changing buses.

Its Biyaheng Pinoy brand of “seamless” and worry-free travel launched in October 1999, has enabled millions of Filipinos to enjoy the scenic countryside onboard luxury buses much like traveling tourists elsewhere in the world.

Passengers have until Nov. 30 to enjoy the huge fare discounts offered by Philtranco’s Ticket Tipid, Yague said. (PNA)
