Pilgrimage tour in Europe set

A religious pilgrimage to four European countries: Portugal, Spain, France and Italy and a sight-seeing tour to historic and cultural places has been organized by writerbook author Visitacion “Chit” de la Torre

Highlights of the tour from Oct. 18-31 include an audience with the Pope at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican, a tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, a visit and procession to Fatima in Portugal and Lourdes in France.

This 15-day tour consists of other religious centers such as St. Mary Majors Basilica in Rome, Italy; the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Miraculous Medal chapel of St. Catherine Laboure in Paris, France; etc. Other cultural-religious places are included such as the birthplace church of San Antonio de Padua in Lisbon; the relic of the “Bleeding Host” at the Church of the Holy Miracle in Santarem; the Church of Our Lady of Peñafrancia in Salamanca; the Gothic Cathedral and the charming plazas in Burgos; the Mediterranean town of Nice as well as the leaning Tower of Pisa; the Shrine of St. Padre de Pio at San Giovanni Rotondo and Lanciano, the site of the first Eucharistic miracle.

Also in Rome, the pilgrims shall view the archaeological area of the Roman Forum, Via Sacra, and the church of Santa Croce with the relics of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The other major religious sites in Rome include St. John Lateran’s Church, the oldest church in Rome; the Scala Santa monument; and the church of St. Paul’s Outside the Walls; among others.

In Assisi, Italy the two greatest saints of the place, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare and their significant churches shall be visited. This medieval town is impressive for its architecture and art.
