LTO is now computerized nationwide

The public can now transact business with LTO nationwide, online and real time via the Land Transportation Office – Information Technology (LTO-IT) Project.

There are already 140 LTO district offices throughout the country which are operating under a computerized environment. With computerization in place, LTO transactions such as driver’s license issuance and motor vehicle registration are now being processed online and real time through the LTO-IT System, making it very convenient for the public to “transact anywhere, anytime”.

The LTO-IT Project has also paved the way for the build-up of a central database capable of storing millions of records of licensed drivers and registered motor vehicles. Moreover, the LTO-IT System is flexible to enable interconnectivity with other IT facilities.

With a directive from LTO head Roberto T. Lastimoso, Stradcom Corporation, the LTO-IT Project proponents, has developed other IT facilities that interconnect with the LTO-IT System. These are the Certificate of Cover Authentication Facility (COC-AF), the Private Emission Testing Center-Information Technology Facility (PETC-ITF), and Drug Test Validation Facility (DTVF).

The COC-AF will allow LTO evaluators nationwide to validate the authenticity of insurance certificates of cover (COC), which is required prior to registration of motor vehicle. Similarly, the PETC-ITF will provide online and real time validation of emission test results before processing transactions for motor vehicle registration. Meanwhile, the DTVF will ensure that no driver’s license is issued to anyone with a positive drug test result.

Stradcom will install these facilities very soon with no additional cost to the public in support of LTO’s commitment to further improve its service to the public.
