MAGALANG, Pampanga – An agro-ecotourism park within the campus of Pampanga Agricultural College (PAC) at the western foot of legendary Mt. Arayat will soon rise following the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between state college officials and officers of a real estate and tourism business development company.

Under the MOA, Concun Group, Inc. would develop a 25-hectare area inside campus into an ecotourism resort with such attractions as an aviary and similar wildlife features, biking and jogging lanes, night cottages, swimming pools for children and adults, conference halls and other amenities.

Agricultural projects of PAC that would certainly interest the agriculturally motivated will form part of the identified attractions.

These include the tilapia hatchery, the milking Murrah buffaloes and the numerous orchards planted to tropical fruit-bearing trees such as durian, sweet sampaloc, atis, mangoes and chicos plus the organic banaba plantation and herbal medicine nurseries.

Concun Group, Inc. will initially pay PAC R150,000 a year as lease payment. For the succeeding years, lease shall be paid in the form of 5 percent share of gross income generated from the operation of the preceding year of the leased premises or a base rent of R150,000 which ever is higher.

In addition to the operation of an agro-ecotourism park, the partners will engage in the rehabilitation and development of PAC Spring Water.

According to PAC officials and Concun executives, they expect to profit immensely from the project “because of the abundance of mountain spring water flowing through the slopes of Mt. Arayat,” PAC president Zosimo M. Battad signed for PAC while Dennis L. Cunanan represented Concun.
