Tayabas, Sariaya & Lucban gears up for Quezon Harvest Fest

The towns of Tayabas, Sariaya and Lucban are now geared up in welcoming their visitors for this year’s celebration of San Isidro Festival.

The Department of Tourism (DoT) together with the local officials and non-government organizations of the three municipalities converged recently to assure the public of their safety in the Mayohan, Agawan and Pahiyas Festivals which will happen simultaneously on May 15, the feast day of San Isidro Labrador.

Traffic re-routing is now plotted for the convenience of motorists who will join the festivities. The Philippine National Police (PNP) suggested that all visitors must try to come to Lucban for the Pahiyas Festival as early as possible to avoid heavy traffic likewise, to have their vehicles pass through the narrow streets of the town.

As early as 6 a.m. on May 15, which is the highlight of the Quezon Harvest Festival, traffic will be closed from all points coming to Lucban.

The Southern Luzon Polytechnic College will be the designated parking area for incoming vehicles to Lucban from Lucena and Manila via Southern Luzon Expressway.

Tayabas and Sariaya passages on the other hand will not be much of a problem for motorists and visitors because of its wider streets.

The PNP traffic management group already plotted the zoning area where the vehicles may be allowed to pass.

The Quezon-PNP likewise gave the assurance on the security of the people by implementing strict security measures, tapping the assistance of the Philippine Army in this endeavor.

Organizers of the festivals assure visitors that they will be treated with exciting and fun filled activities that are lined up for this year’s festivity.
