Balayan, Batangas once again attracted visitors from far and near to witness their lively town fiesta, where the lechon was the “bida” and Juan Bautista was the “santo.” Held every 24th of June, Batangeños bring out their creativity and ingenuity as the different barangays come together to dress up their own lechon, or roast pig, for the much anticipated Parada ng mga Lechon.
Touch Mobile, was there to join in the fun and festivities, led by TV Personality Keempee de Leon.
There were street dancing activities, marching bands, local young artists playing lively tunes at every corner, and of course the colorful lechons that paraded through the streets. Keempee met and posed with fans as he joined the parade that featured an eye-catching Touch Mobile float which had two phone-flaunting lechons behind the wheels of a red hot race car.
There was not a dry soul around as the merrymakers performed the tradition called water dousing, all done in good humor. Keempee gamely engaged in a water fight with the kids and townpeople who were ready with their water guns and pressurized hoses.
After the parade, the lechons were brought to the town plaza where families feasted on this favorite Filipino delicacy.
