Northern Mindanao in Intramuros

The much-awaited comeback of Wow Philippines! Best of the Regions cultural-trade shows in Intramuros resumes this August with Northern Mindanao in the limelight.

The Clamshell 1 in Walled City’s History Town is transformed into a miniature North Mindanao complete with its popular sites and products.

Famous attractions such as the Maria Cristina Falls of Iligan City and the Canopy Walk of Claveria, Misamis Oriental will be replicated along with the landmarks of the different provinces in the region.

Also featured are the provinces of Camiguin, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental and Occidental and the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Gingoog, Iligan, Malaybalay, Tangub, Ozamiz, Oroquieta and Valencia.

"I am sure that the public will appreciate the new look that we have carefully prepared for them,’’ Tourism Secretary Roberto Pagdanganan said.

"The DoT Region 10 office has lined up a new and exciting program for the Pasundayag showcase of Northern Mindanao," he added.

A tribal parade of famous festivals will open the "Pasundayag". The Sagayan of Lanao del Norte for instance, is a Maranao war dance that portrays masculinity among men and grace among women.

Another interesting festival is the Subayan Keg Subanon of Ozamiz City, where revelers demonstrate authentic Subanon culture through mime.

Also showcased at the Best of Region 10 are booths that sell destinations, local cuisine, gifts and craft demonstrations.

The Region 10 showcase will run until Aug. 24. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday except Monday, when it opens at 3 p.m.
