The tourism industry is expecting the country’s international travel expo to draw huge crowds of local and foreign visitors when it runs on Sept. 3 to 5 at the Megatrade halls 1 and 2 of SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

Dubbed “15th Philippine Travel Mart,” or PTM, the expo has been attracting foreign outbound travel agents, and registration from all over the world continues to pour in.

PTM secretary-general Celine Clemente said foreign media from at least 15 counties worldwide were also coming.

“Most of the expected visitors are foreign buyers, local tour operators, corporate entities, association executives, chief executive officers, members of the diplomatic community, travel trade professionals, students, and the general public,” Clemente said.

Thousands of them are coming over to buy tourism products and travel packages, view the colorful exhibits, watch the exciting cultural presentations, join the competitions, seek investment opportunities, and transact business with the exhibitors, who practically represent all the various sectors of the vast tourism industry.

The exhibitors include airlines, agrotourism estates, attractions and destination management companies, catering, convention and exhibition venues, incentive houses and suppliers, cruise lines, museums, national tourism organizations, hotels, professional conference managers, local tourism councils, production services, promotional products and services, resorts, restaurant, shipping lines, souvenir manufacturers and shops, trade agencies and publications, tour operators and packages, and transport companies, among others.

Sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., Philippine Tourism Authority, Philippine Airlines, WG&A, and Air Philippines, the 15th PTM is supported by the DoT and the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corp. and organized by the Philippine Tour Operators Association.
