| ‘WOW Minda-Now’ showcases Davao City |

The Department of Tourism announced “WOW Minda-NOW” will be held Oct. 1-17 in Davao City to highlight the city as gateway of the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA).
Tourism regional director Sonia Garcia said the event to be held at the SM City and PTB grounds DOT XI will be spending around R3 to R4 million for the implementation of the project.
Wow Minda-Now aims to attract domestic tourism by showcasing the entire Mindanao in one place.
The activity will highlight the new Davao International Airport which has been the DOT IX’s pass in getting the approval of Tourism Secretary Roberto Pagdanganan’s approval to bring Wow Minda-Now to Davao City, according to Garcia.
“Pavilions will be set up showcasing Davao City, IGACOS, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur, Compostela Valley, Camiguin, Siargao, Tiboli Lake and Zamboanga,” Garcia said.
“We are now meeting with the different regional directors convincing them to hold their conferences or congress in Davao on October in time for the activity,” Garcia added. (Romy V. Mapile)
