Eastern, western culinary arts at career fair

The techniques of learning the exotic Eastern and Western culinary arts will take center stage at the exhibit of at-sunrice, the acclaimed Singapore cooking school and spice garden, during the 16th Career Counseling and Guidance Fair 2004 to be conducted by International Education Specialists (Inter-Ed 8191001) on Sept. 16-17 at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.





at-sunrice has confirmed its participation in the two-day education and career event dubbed as “Beyond Horizons” and which is intended to guide graduating high school students make a good decision in choosing what course to take and in what college or university to enroll.



At-sunrice is one of more than 50 exhibitors composed of top local colleges and universities, leading foreign schools, foreign embassies and consulates, and local government agencies which will showcase opportunities for the best college education, training, career placement and employment here and abroad through exhibits, seminars and the latest information on scholarship programs.



at-sunrice, which is acknowledged as Singapore’s top culinary school, provides cutting-edge culinary training for both experienced chefs and high school graduates (aged 16-19 years old).



It offers a ladderized program that begins with a 12-month Diploma in Culinary Craft (DCC), an Advanced Culinary Placement Diploma (ACP), a professional course that teaches advanced techniques of Eastern and Western culinary; and a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts at the Johnson Wales University in Rhode Island, USA.



According to Inter-Ed president Roger D. Bartholomew, an estimated 10,000 high schools students from various secondary schools all over the Philippines are expected to attend the education and career exhibit and avail themselves of free consultation with admissions officers and guidance counselors of participating schools. The affair has been endorsed by the Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
