Vigan City’s Fil-Spanish Friendship Park opens

VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur – This city’s Fil-Spanish Friendship Park which was established to commemorate the historical and cultural ties between Spain and the Philippines, Vigan in particular, is now open to tourists.





The opening was announced after the city council here approved amendments to Ordinance No. 3 Series 2004 which sets the rates and guidelines for the use and operation of the Filipino-Spanish Friendship Park



The said ordinance which was sponsored by Councilor Steve Javier allows the public to use the basketball court, swimming pool, picnic sheds and the open amphitheater located at the park, provided that they pay the corresponding fees.



The fees are categorized into day and night rates. For the basketball court, a fee of R100 per game shall be imposed during daytime and R200 per game at nighttime. A fee of R20 (daytime) and R30 (nighttime) per person shall be charged respectively for the use of the swimming pool and R25 per picnic shed.



The use of the open amphitheater requires a fee of R1,500 for the first two hours and additional R500 per hour for the succeeding hours when it is utilized at nighttime.



A R10 entrance fee for adults; R5 for children and R2 each for a group 30 students shall be imposed.

Exemption from payment of entrance fees and usage of facilities is also provided in the ordinance wherein it is granted/given to any city government sponsored program or activity and children below two years old. (Mar T. Supnad)
