Living spaces designed by innovative editors of prominent home and lifestyle publications such as Real Living and Manila Bulletin’s My Home, will be the centerpiece of the 27th edition of the Philippine Furniture Festival (PFF) to be held at the SM Megatrade Halls 2 and 3 from Nov. 12 to 21.

This biannual festival organized by the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP) is meant not only to promote the local furniture and furnishings industry but, more importantly, to stimulate market demand for superb and trendy products manufactured by Filipino furniture makers all over the country.

"It is very heartening to know that young professionals and celebrities have been yearning for locally made furniture. I believe that this has been made possible due to the incessant efforts of our furniture makers to produce new and exciting designs," said CFIP President Nicolaas de Lange.

The PFF will present more than 60 furniture and furnishings companies from the provinces of Albay, Bulacan, Cagayan, Cavite, Laguna, La Union, Pampanga, Tarlac, Vigan, Zambales and Metro Manila with products ranging from residential and office furniture, as well as, home furnishings like accent pieces, decorative accessories, floor and wall coverings, among others.

Another exclusive feature of the 27th PFF will be the bold Furniture and Furnishings Forecast for 2005 which will be presented by the Product Development and Design Center of the Philippines (PDDCP). The Center will hold an exhibit at the Special Events Area and conduct Trends Briefings for each of the two Saturdays during the Festival.

Other seminars and workshops will also be conducted by the media partners of CFIP for free. The Real Living Workshops intend to educate the public in the aspects of building, decorating and making sure that their living spaces are properly maintained and taken cared of. Seasoned speakers will also provide easy tips on organizing clutter, design trends and Christmas buffets.

To add excitement to this colorful 10-day affair, a Red Tag Mid-Week Sale will be held on Nov. 16 and 17 wherein some exhibitors will offer 10 to 30 percent discounts on selected furniture products.

The CFIP, today, has grown to a formidable group of furniture manufacturers and exporters nationwide. It is a united body that facilitates mutual understanding, cooperation, and sustained development within the industry and forges close collaboration between the local furniture sector and foreign stakeholders.

Its primary projects, the Philippine Furniture Festival and the Philippine International Furniture Show, are envisioned to generate appreciation for the ingenuity and craftsmanship of Philippine furniture.
