The Montemar Beach Club is wholly operated by the Montemar Beach Club, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit corporation established in 1978. Montemar Beach Club Inc. is an affiliate of Philcomsat, the telecommunications company. The Club began operations in 1979 and at present has only 350 active members. The Club is open to members, their guests, and sponsored groups.
The Club is located in Bagac, Bataan which lies in the southwestern part of Central Luzon, 150.82 kilometers or about a 2 hour drive from Manila. Situated in a 12-hectare cove between the hills of Bagac and the pristine waters of the West Philippine Sea, the Club has an immaculate and private 500-meter stretch of white sand beach with clean and calm waters ideal for swimming and aqua sports. An established leisure spot since the 1980s, Montemar is regarded as the most beautiful white sand beach closest to Manila.
It has 5 Mediterranean-inspired inns with 89 rooms recently renovated by popular interior designer Letty Ruiz. At full capacity, the Club can accommodate 450 guests.
Aside from its aqua sports equipment, the Club boasts of 2 swimming pools, a 9-hole executive golf course, a tennis court, a basketball court, a badminton court, a childrens playground, and a fishing lagoon.
Its conference facilities are equipped with telecommunication facilities and office equipment for seminars and conventions and can accommodate groups of up to 500 in comfort and style. Informal functions can be held in any of the cabanas or picnic huts.
The Club has 3 dining facilities: La Terraza for appetizers and light snacks, La Marea for comfort Filipino and Spanish food, and Lanai for freshly grilled meat and seafood.
With the assistance of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Montemar Beach Club is also an eco-tourism destination. The Clubs has a long-standing commitment to the preservation of endangered marine turtles, and every November, it celebrates the Grand Pawikan Fest where hatchlings are released to the sea.
