Location. Surrounded by the 1.1-million acre Routt National Forest, Timber Run by Steamboat Resorts enjoys serene placement in Steamboat Springs, Colo. Just 500 yards from the Silver Bullet Gondola and three miles from downtown, the resort is convenient to shopping, dining and area attractions, with shuttles available to transport guests. Summer or winter, Steamboat is the place to be for outdoor recreation. Opportunities exist for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding and, of course, skiing and snowboarding. Dozens of galleries and almost 70 bars and restaurants are located about town, providing plenty of off-mountain entertainment. Lincoln Avenue, primarily between Fifth and Ninth Streets, is where most of the more interesting galleries and shops are located.
Features. The resort features a recently renovated amenities area with three outdoor spa tubs and an outdoor pool flanked by a sun deck with lounge chairs. The clubhouse features a guest lounge, conference space and a business center. During ski season, complimentary morning coffee and doughnuts are offered. Guest laundry facilities are located on site, and concierge services are available.
Guestrooms. Each of the one-, two- and three-bedroom condos feature balconies, fireplaces and kitchens with ranges, refrigerators and microwave ovens. Other standard amenities include cable television, VCRs and high-speed Internet access. A complimentary welcome bottle of wine and souvenir wine tin are provided in all units.
Expert Tip. The Bridgestone Winter Driving School, one mile from the resort, is the nation's first school for ice driving. Classes range from half-day introductory to two-day performance courses. Reservations are recommended.

Driving Directions
2015 Walton Creek Road, Steamboat Springs, Colo. From Yampa Valley Airport: Head east on Highway 40 for approximately 22 miles. Proceed through downtown Steamboat to Mount Werner Road. Take a left on Mount Werner Road. Proceed up Walton Creek Road, and take a left. Drive approximately 3/4 mile. The Timber Run Steamboat Resort is on the right. Approximate driving time is 48 minutes and distance is 27 miles.
