Amandari, the legendary abode of “peaceful spirits”, is located five
minutes from the art colony of Ubud in Central Bali. The hotel is sited
on an escarpment perched above the Ayung River gorge, with views of
the valley and spectacular terraced rice fields. Built adjacent to Kedewatan
Village, Amandari has been designed as a walled Balinese village with
all the tranquility and serenity of the surrounding areas. Staircases
descend to the river and a series of tracks lead across of rice paddies
to nearby villages. The resort’s main building is located centrally
to the accommodation and takes in the spectacular rural view. The Lobby
leads to the Bar and Restaurant and a Library, Shop and Gallery complete
the facilities. The swimming pool is shaped similar to a rice paddy
and enjoys scenic views from its flow over edge. All the traditions
of this culturally-rich island are within easy reach of Amandari. Magnificent
temples, shrines, rice terraces, beaches, volcanos, centers of traditional
arts are all less than an hour way.
