SAN FERNANDO, PampangaThe Department of Tourism (DoT) has started the social

infrastructure development of the Minalungao National Park in Gen. Tinio, Nueva Ecija with

a P3 million fund to conserve and enhance the park's natural beauty and assets.

DoT regional director Ronaldo Tiotuico said that Minalungao National Park's development

would include the construction and development of a multi-purpose pavillion including

provision for water system and power generator within the park complex.

Construction of the multi-purpose hall will pave the way for the full development of the park as a

major travel destination for local and foreign tourists whose number continued to rise lately.

The park has become world famous for its breathtaking view of narrow but deep Pe?aranda river

where tourists come during summer for a cold swim and nature tripping.

Both banks of the Pe?aranda river are some 16 meters high of limestone walls. Another tourist

attraction in the park is a cave which inner recesses have yet to be explored. It features a

yawning pit, ante-chambers of flowing draperies of marvelous stone formations and a

magnificent halls adorned with natural chandeliers of stalactites.

"Spelunkers are drawn to the cave because of its natural beauty and unexplained wonders,"

Tiotuico said.

Once fully developed, DoT Sec. Gemma Cruz said the park will become an ideal place for

important events like barangay meetings and big conferences without having to bother about

the comfort and convenience of a meeting facility.
