To further prop up domestic tourism, the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA), in cooperation
with the National Youth Commission (NYC), will launch a student package tour "Barkadahan
sa Turismo" this month.
This is in view of the fact that the student populace is quite remarkable. The program aims to
educate the youth through affordable travel, enhancing their historical, cultural and ecological
awareness a well as touristoriented concerns.
Cognizant of the role of student-travelers in the development of domestic tourism, the PTA is
making its three properties "accessible" to the student market with special and pocket-friendly
rates.
PTA, infrastructure arm of the Department of Tourism, owns 10 entities.
Up for launching are the Banaue Barkadahan Package of three-day/two-night accommodation
and meals at the Banaue Hotel and Youth Hotel for as low as P1,000 net/pax; Pagsanjan
Barkadahan Package of overnight accommodation and meals at the Pagsanhan Garden Resort
for as low as P498 net/pax; and the Hundred Islands Barkadahan Package of overnight
accommodation and meals (inclusive of island hopping) at the Hundred Islands National Park for
as low as P580 net/pax.
Each package requires a minimum of 20 persons.
Invited to the launching program are student organizations, officers from the different colleges
and universities in the National Capital Region (NCR).
