QUESTION NO. 2:
Where is the best place to have a romantic rendezvous in the
Philippines? And why?
To post your answer, send e-mail to travelsmart@infophil.com .
CAMUIGUIN, CAGAYAN DE ORO - CECILE BEJOSANO
You could visit Camuiguin (one of the islands in Cagayan de Oro City Philippines). The place is very exotic and romantic
since you could feel the touch of nature. You'd love the very cold water of the 250ft. falls, the white sand at the center of
the sea, the hot spring, the Hibok - Hibok mountain that has a historical background and the under sea cemetery.
majestic BANAUE RICE TERRACES - FLOR MONTON
I've been to several places in the Philippines but the best place is the Banaue Rice Terraces.
If you love privacy and fresh air, you will enjoy a weekend in Banaue. This place is a complete getaway from all the
pollution in the Metropolis. The best place to stay in is the Banaue Hotel, less than a kilometer away from the town
proper. You can have breakfast, lunch and snacks while viewing the rice terraces.
Since there are more than 10 view point of the terrraces the best terrace view in Banaue is Battad. It's a long walk but
when you reach the top, it's worth the trip.
towering pines of BAGUIO CITY -MARC AND LALAINE LANUZA
It is the summer capital of the Philippines, the City of Baguio City. I would say, the main criterion to choose a great place
to unwind is the - WEATHER. The California weather in Baguio is very relaxing and just give you all that vibrant feeling
to go each day.Besides having an excellent weather, the tourist amenities is handy everywhere- from taxi to natural
beauties that just entertains your thoughts and imagination. You could still appreciate some Filipino traditions in the
area-the Filipino hospitality, presentation of culturally diversed Philippines, and students all over the place-to their quest
for knowledge and education. The more you visit Baguio, time will come that the mere idea of selecting Baguio to be
your destination- is just as relaxing as taking your vacation, having your picnics and naps under the towering Pine Trees
of Baguio.
SHORES OF EL NIDO, PALAWAN - F.A.G.E.L
Isolation...a place far away from the hustle of city-life......to be so disconnected from everything.. and so connected to
the ONE person that matters.....the perfect romantic rendevouz would be on the shores of el nido,
palawan....why?.....why not?.....white sands, pristine beaches, a panorama of a romantic sunset sweep walking on the
shore hand-in-hand.....shadows melting in one.
FORT ILOCANDIA - gENEVERE MARCIANO
Best place to have a romantic rendezvous in the Philippines is Fort Ilocandia, Laoag City. The atmosphere there permits
one to dream and make-believe that the whole place is yours. The sunset is breath-taking. And, the beach, it stretches
for miles. The waves can effortlessly lull you to sleep. For those who could be extravagant, the casino. And, don't
forget the wide lawns, and the brown structure which glows to its finest during sunsets...
a walk in the clouds in sagada, mountain province
Go to Mountain Province. In Sagada, the place is so close to God due to it's natural environment. It is a place for soul
searching (for me) Eventhough it is spotted with some modern technology, yet it is still not exploited. - Christian
Legaspi
Sagada, Mt. Prov.........cool climate...one reason to huddle and cuddle.....bonefires in the woods near a small brook , so
quiet you go to sleep with the singsong rushing of water......spelungking small and big caves.......hiking with wild edible
mushrooms and fruits like blueberries, guava, "agsup" and other berries.....lots of sites to enjoy like hanging coffins,
riceterraces, waterfalls and mountains full of nice straight pinetrees........nice people and unique well preserved culture...at
the heart of it all is the anglican mission set up by Americans, so don't be surprised of the western adopted architechture
of houses and fluent spoken English of the i-Sagada.....even the old folks. - Keithley Biteng
Villa Escudero Plantation & Resort and PLANtation Bay Resort
- Geoff Simpson
I have lived in the Philippines for 4 years and go out of Manila most weekends, there are two places that compete for me
as far as romantic rendevouz are concerned... The Villa Escudero Plantation and Resort, with its riverside cottages. On a
non holiday weekend it is the most beautiful spot to take a loved one and as it is only a two hour drive from the city in
San Pablo ,Laguna it is a very close option. You can spend hours exploring the Escudero familly museum filled with
treasures that have been collected by the Escuderos for generations, the result of a lot of travel. Marvel at the
homestead, the Escudero familly are very accommodating and as they are also managing their resort the service is100%
perfect. My other best romantic place is Plantation Bay Resort in Mactan, Cebu. The resort staff are very well trained
and very discreet, so you can have a weekend in peace, alone together, as planned. The five star accomodations are set
around several Lagoons and the view from the upper floors is breathtaking and the service is definately outstanding. Both
options have plenty of walking trails and are totally secluded and well maintained, an evening stroll under the stars is
heaven, the skies are so beautiful that it would make even the the least romantic of us see life differently. The Plantation
Bay option is a bit pricy due to the flight from Manila as well as being a heartbreaker when you finally have to leave.
Both resorts stand out in the Philippines for their excellent service, facilities... (Villa Escudero is the more rustic of the
two} but if its relaxation and a little loving you need....either one will do nicely.
