A pyramid will soon rise in over 3 hectares of land in Manaoag,
Pangasinan, a place made famous by a miraculous statue of the
Blessed Virgin Mother. The project was made possible by the
unselfish cooperation of several nationalities to make the dream
of a well-known Filipino healer come true.
As a young faith healer, Alex Orbito of Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija,
dreamt of a pyramid structure that can heal people. He did not
know anything then about pyramids. All he knew was that the
dream directed him to build a pyramid in an ideal place which
will become an international mecca for healing people all over
the world.
For years that dream haunted Alex. He searched for a place
where that pyramid could be built in the Philippines. He asked
his foreign friends to design the right pyramid. Many designs
were submitted but none could fit the specifications he needed
for healing.
In 1986 he visited Cairo, Egypt and saw for the first time the
famous pyramids of Egypt. He entered one of them and was
impressed with the strong vibrations he experienced inside. He
knew he had to have one built in the Philippines.
Dream
He talked about his dream of building a pyramid of Asia to
people in many countries that he would visit in the succeeding
years. Many contributed money, including the famous
Hollywood actress Shirley Maclaine, whose daughter Alex had
healed. Ms Maclaine even devoted a whole chapter to Alex in
her latest best-selling book, ''Going Within.''
The pyramid in Egypt has captured the imagination of people all
over the world. It was told that when Napoleon laid eyes on the
pyramid, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, he
was struck by its massive size and quaint beauty. He must have
asked in his mind the same question that anybody who sees the
pyramid for the first time asks himself: who could have built this
massive structure in the middle of the desert, and for what
purpose?
That question has never been satisfactorily answered until now.
Napoleon stayed one night inside the pyramid and emerged
from it completely shaken by the experience. He never revealed
what took place inside the pyramid but it must have been so
awesome as to make the great Napoleon mum until his death.
I first heard Alex talk about his dream pyramid when he was still
doing healing in his old house in Maryland Street in Quezon
City. That was about 25 years ago.
When money started to come in, various sites were considered,
including Antipolo and Tagaytay City, but eventually it was
located in Manaoag in Pangasinan. Maybe it was because the
property was available and it is Orbito's adopted province which
was Pangasinan.
First step
The first step in having a pyramid built for healing purposes
came when Alex met a German architect and pyramidologist
named Dieter Loewer in Munich, Germany in 1993. The two men
talked about building the Pyramid of Asia and Dieter got
excited. He submitted a plan to Alex which was finally approved
after so much discussions and delays. Other plans and designs
were submitted by other foreign designers but all these merely
imitated the structures similar to the pyramid in Egypt, but did
not fulfill the one basic requirement of Alex, namely, that the
pyramid to be built should be used primarily for healing.
The energy to be tapped is the energy of healing rather than for
mummification, for initiation or for burial which were some of the
theories advanced by researchers and archeologists on why the
pyramids were built by the ancient Pharaohs. None of the
pyramids built outside of Egypt had healing as a primary
purpose, only small models built for experimental purposes in
various parts of the world.
Loewer was fascinated by the idea and designed a pyramid
primarily to harness the healing energies of the cosmos within
its walls. He enlisted the help of structural engineer Jurgen
Blodt to make it a reality. On June 11, the massive wooden
pillars of the pyramid in Manaoag were installed in place under
his supervision and witnessed by hundreds of people, including
members of the media and local government officials who were
invited to the occasion.
What are the characteristics of this Pyramid of Asia and how
does it differ from the great pyramid in Egypt?
First, the similarities. The Pyramid of Asia follows the same
proportion of the shape of the pyramid at Giza. Both are oriented
to the magnetic North.
