Amanjiwo, or peaceful soul, rests in the
countryside at the foot of Menoreh Hills in
Central Java, Indonesia. Located within a natural
amphitheater, the 35-suite resort overlooks
verdant terraced rice fields and coconut, clove
and citrus groves, and the world largest
Buddhist monument, Borobudur.
The architecture of Amanjiwo draws from the
history and culture of Central Java. The main
building is circular in design and rises to a domed
centerpiece. Through the entrance, guests pass the water gardens, Library and Gallery
into the Bar and Dining Room with its spacious terrace. Views from the resort frame

Climate
Mean temperatures in the Indonesian archipelago range between 25 to 28C (78-82F) at sea level and
decrease by about one degree Celsius (two degrees Fahrenheit) for every 200 meters (650ft) of
altitude. The months of November through March provide occasional tropical rainfall and a dry season
prevails from April to October.
Time Difference
Indonesia covers three time zones. Central Java is seven hours ahead of GMT.
Language
The national language is Bahasa Indonesia (although there are 350 languages and dialects spoken in
the archipelago). English is commonly spoken around commercial centers.
