Alona Beach the perfect escape from Manila. Since years the dive sites around

Panglao Island are known by tourists from all over the world to be the best in the

Philippines and just recently divers from Manila are discovering this beautiful and

peaceful place for their weekend diving trips. At Alona Beach you got it all,

unbelievable dive sites, different variety of accommodations from P 300 to P 3000,

white sand beach, good restaurants, a nice night live (no monkey business),

friendly people, family atmosphere and easy access.

The best restaurant on the beach is for sure the Kamalig. O like Alona Tropical,

Bohol Divers Lodge or Alona Kew often have entertaining programs but also check

out the small local restaurants like Ging Ging?s, Trudies or Sea Side.

For the night live the first place to be is the famous Planet Divers Bar, here most

instructors and divemasters hang out, play some billiards and organise wild parties

starting sometimes out of nothing. The Planet Divers Bar also arranges beach

barbecue and buffet parties. Just inform Mary-Jean, the beautiful manager, one

day ahead Every Saturday there is beach barbecue anyhow.

For those who like it more relaxed and quiet, the Sam and Jerry Bar next door is

the right place. Check out some of the small, native and nice places, such as

Nollies, along the beach.

A new bar named Safety Stop will open soon.

The Dive Centers, hotels, bars and restaurants here work hand in hand to create a

totally enjoyable atmosphere on the beach. Crime, prostitution and drugs are not

known at Alona Beach at all.

For your safety, to coordinate search & rescue activities, ensure safety of live and

property at sea, reef protection and public education. Dive operators got together

and formed the Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron 203.11 says division commander

Patrick Ritter of Savedra & Great White Dive Center.

More information on the Coast Guard Auxiliary and how to start one at

patrick@savedra.com .

Most Dive Centers at Alona Beach organize dive safaris throughout the Visayas to

Apo Island, Sumilon Island, Siquior and other destinations.

Some even have dive safaris scheduled to other destinations, where they have

branches, like Savedra & Great White to and from Moalboal (info at

patrick@savedra.com) or Genesis Divers to and from Camiguin (info at

giso@genesisdivers.com), making travelling through the Visayas more interesting.
