Tourism management in the province of Nueva Ecija has been centralized
through an office dealing exclusively on travel promotions, projects and
programs.
With the creation of the Nueva Ecija Historical, Culture and Arts Council (NEHCA)
under the managership of Anna Aves, activities revolving around efforts of the
provincial government to attract more local and foreign tourists to the “Golden
Harvest” province have been better put to focus.
The NEHCA used to be supervised by the Provincial Trade and Industry Office (PTIO)
d uring the time of former Gov. Edno Joson has of late been returned to the Office of
the Governor under the administration of incumbent Gov. Tomas N. Joson III.
“We have succeeded in promoting noteworthy Balikbayan programs, infrastructure
investment ventures, printed literature distribution and media utilization efforts since
my office had a direct band in running NEHCA,” the local chief executive said.
Joson pointed out that an amalgam of historical, cultural, natural and artistic
attractions takes centerstage in Nueva Ecija now. He added that such is the case
with old churches and edifices with historical value, cultural events similar to the
Taong Putik festivities, natural attractions found in the mountainside falls, and
painting collections of Novo Ecijano masters like the late Ibarra de la Rosa of Gapan.
