Airplanes should have 2 sets of rest rooms
Source: Inquirer

WHY don't commercial airplanes have separate rest rooms reserved for male and female passengers?

The airplane has been with us for decades now. But have you ever wondered why only a common rest room is shared by male and female passengers?

Maybe, to cut on expenses on the part of airline owners?

I cannot accept that. Plane fares are just about the most expensive of all fares, although that is not surprising since aviation fuel is the costliest of all motor fuels.

There are about six rest rooms on the average for a commercial airplane, the rest rooms found in the first-class cabin not included.

Why can't they be divided equally as to provide separate rest rooms for both sexes?

I pity the female passengers because most often, they are a bit more inconvenienced than the male passengers.

Maybe there's a compelling reason airplanes can't have separate rest rooms for both sexes?

I'm really, really interested.

My belief is that there ought to be a law requiring airplane makers, if not airplane owners, to provide separate rest rooms for male and female passengers.

Oftentimes, I have this strange feeling after stepping out of the plane's rest room each time I see a lady waiting for her turn to enter.

This ``strange feeling'' can only be removed if and when two sets of rest rooms are finally provided for in our airplanes.

What do you think, buddies?

The E-Pass is really magic.

A friend of mine has an E-Pass in the glove compartment of his car. In a recent trip to the South, he had no intention of using it yet. He was still undecided on which of his fleet of cars he would stick his E-Pass on.

But lo and behold. When my friend hit the entrance of the toll booth at the South Expressway, his E-Pass, still wrapped in a box and concealed in the glove compartment, registered and the green light switched on.

Scratching his head, he said he could only smile at the ``magic of the E-Pass.''

I can't understand why they put traffic lights at the innermost part of the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

Isn't that stretch of road designed to supposedly allow the free flow of traffic once you get there?

While installing those lights was simply a waste of money, the act only contributed to more traffic jams in that area that I traverse almost daily.

I therefore urge our officials to have those traffic lights removed and instead transferred to the crossing of Commonwealth Avenue and Don Diosdado Street in Don Enrique Heights, Quezon City, in front of St. Peter's Church.

Crossing Commonwealth Avenue from Don Enrique Heights to St. Peter's church has become really an ordeal. Every pedestrian trying to cross that portion is courting disaster.

Paging Mayor Mathay?
