The Patnubay sa Kaunlaran ng Tagaytay Foundation, Inc. (PKTFI) will hold ''The Colors and Flavors of Summer'' festival, featuring arts, crafts, flowers, plants, and food, on March 24, Saturday, at Al Fresco, Gourmet's Café, Km. 52, Silang Cavite.

Proceeds of the event will benefit the Ospital ng Tagaytay, a primary level medical institution owned by the city government. The hospital provides quality, affordable and accessible health-care services for the people of Tagaytay and nearby communities.

The hospital hopes to upgrade its facilities needed for surgical and medical services.

“It will be an experience of summer outside the city, and more,” enthuses Ging de los Reyes, president of The Flower Farm Corp. “It is at once a market of the finest produce of Tagaytay, an art exhibit, an educational session, and a gourmet treat.”

Participating groups and companies include the Antipolo Thursday Club, Popo San Pascuals’ Arts, Recuedo’s Antiques, Antipolo’s Baskets, Taal’s Barongs, The Museum Curator, The Flower Farm Corp., Tagaytay Garden Center, Ming Ramos’ Garden Solution, Gourmet’s Farm, Ilog Maria Bee Farm, Mushroom Burger Corporation, Good Shepherd Ube Jam, Organic French Chicken and Tagaytay Tourism Council, Inc.

“You can buy the best of Tagaytay’s organically grown vegetables and collectors’ plants and flowers, have your portrait done at an actual sitting, discover the wonders of the bees and worms, and learn how to grow mushrooms and simple ways to manage household solid waste,” continues de los Reyes.

De los Reyes says the festival is open to “all kind-hearted individuals and corporations” engaged in arts and crafts, food, flower cultivation, plants and vegetables, the manufacture and supply of solid waste management, among others.

Since its creation in 1994, the PKTFI has committed itself in uplifting the lives of the people of Tagaytay. It has raised funds for the upgrading of the waste system of Tagaytay City Water District and the purchase of a lot in Indang Cavite for the proposed Ecological Resource recovery Center.
