Singapore’s beautiful Sentosa Island

SINGAPORE – Sentosa, this country’s famous theme park is as they say “a playground for all ages”. A visitor will need about two days to explore this huge island of many pleasures.







Tour begins with a cable car ride to Mount Faber which affords an spectacular view of the harbour and the cruise center. You can then choose which attractions you want to experience depending on your length of stay in Sentosa but it is best to experience all!





The Asian Village showcases ethnic food, arts and crafts, architecture from around the region as well as joy rides. The Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom is a walk-in aviary with over 2,500 free-flying butterflies and 4,000 mounted insects on display.





The Cinemania offers three-dimensional entertainment with state of the art visual and audio technology. The Dolphin Lagoon features an educational show featuring the rare pink dolphins.





The Fantasy Island offers thrilling roller coaster rides and water slides. Fort Silosa is a walk back in time experience reliving the action with a complex of bunkers, cannons and underground passages. Learn about Singapore’s war history and multi-faceted heritage with dioramas depicting life in early times, the Japanese surrender at the close of World War II and the local festivals at Images of Singapore.





The Lost Civilization/Ruined City offers landscaped gardens for children to run around in. The Maritime Museum features watercraft that used to ply Singapore’s water. The Musical Fountain is an extravaganza of lights and water ballet set to popular tunes. The Nature Walk/Dragon Trail will take you to a lush 1.5.km. secondary rainforest where you can see monkeys, squirrels, over 20 species of birds and unique insects like cicadas and crickets.





A clock made of flowers, a carp pond and a Japanese teahouse await you at the Sentosa Orchid Gardens. The Sijori Wonder Golf Sentosa, a first in this region, boasts of 54 holes set in picturesque surroundings. The Merlion is a 37 meters high structure of Singapore’s symbolic figure which offers a panoramic view of Singapore and the surrounding islands. You may actually take an optional ride up to the crown to the 12th floor. The Volcano Land is a multi-sensory theme attractions that re-creates a journey into the center of the earth and traces the origins of the world as well the evolution of life.





The Underwater World is Asia’s biggest oceanarium featuring an 83-meter submerged acrylic tunnel which allows you to view over 6,0000 marine creatures from 250 species in stunning proximity. Served by a moving travellator, you will see stingrays, sharks, moray eels, stonefish, piranhas, electric eels, seadragons, dart frogs, a dugong and more.





Don’t be surprised but you can take a swim, play beach volleyball or rent surf boards and canoes at the Central Beach where you can have a great time under the sun. Remember that Sentosa is surrounded by water. The Mahalo Hawaiian Beach Bar offers lively music and a totally relaxing ambience. There is a hotel within the island the Rasa Shangri-La Hotel.





Sentosa Island offers a mixture of fabulous sun, sand and sea, the rustic charm of enhancing flora and fauna, manicured gardens, musical fountains, historical enclaves, themed attractions, laid-back lifestyles, golf, high-tech thrills and more.
