BERLIN, Germany – Some 60,000 travel agents, tour operators, convention organizers, wholesalers and retailers attended the five-day Internationale Tourism Borse (ITB) which ended yesterday.
Considered as the world’s largest professional trade fair held here annually, close to 10,000 exhibitors including the Philippines showed their products to thousands of attendees and visitors.
During the awards night, the Philippines won the Overall Best Marketing Travel award presented by Pacific-Asia Tourism Association (PATA), the largest travel organization in the region.
Tourism Secretary Richard Gordon who headed the Philippine delegation composed of representatives from the government and the private sector, said his group impressed travel leaders and media with its varied and innovative marketing activities. (PNA, Lynda B. Valencia)
