BACOOR, Cavite – This summer, a new restaurant complex called Water Village that offers a unique dining place for the Caviteños has opened its doors to the public.

Located along the Gen. Aguinaldo Highway and just a stone’s throw from SM City Bacoor, the place is now becoming the favorite hub for couples, groups or families who want a good place to eat.

Owned by businessman Bobby Velasco of the Cafe de Malate fame, the restaurant complex sits on a 5,000 sq. meter property just along the busy Aguinaldo Highway.

The complex has its clusters of three-story nipa hut style dining areas, a Japanese-style eatery, a swimming pool with a slide and a two-storey concrete building that houses an air-conditioned coffee shop, videoke bar and a ballroom dancing area.

According to Velasco, the restaurant offers some of the most succulent Filipino dishes including Chinese, Japanese and Western that visitors can feast on.

The restaurant, he said could accommodate up to 500 persons and is good for weddings, baptismals, birthday parties or even for corporate meetings or seminars.

He said that local materials such as nipa, bamboo and hard wood were used to create a warm and cozy atmosphere in the three-storey bahay-kubo that was built in the complex.

He said that the restaurant’s native tropical ambience looks perfect for the guests while eating their favorite native dishes like sinigang na hipon or bangus, crispy pata, kare-kare, Bikol express and others.

At night, a live band performs at the ground floor of the three-storey hut where beers or hard drinks as well as delicious “pulutans” are served to customers.

The coffee shop and videoke bar located at the nearby concrete ship-shaped building is good for whiling away the night where young and pretty waitresses serve food and drinks.

Cavite Gov. Ayong Maliksi who led last month the inauguration and blessing of the restaurant has expressed his amazement over the native tropical design of the place that according to him will click to the customers.

And the governor was right.

Today, Water Village is a byword for many Caviteños, foreign tourists and other visitors from Metro Manila who always drop by the place to revel in great food, great atmosphere, and great music of Bobby Velasco’s new place.

Only recently, no less than President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and other Malacañang officials had dined at the Water Village during a meeting with Governor Maliksi and local town officials led by Bacoor Mayor Jessie Castillo.
