Great Getaways for less at Travel Tour Expo

For those planning to take that dream vacation trip with their loved ones but are not too keen on spending much, the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) and the Department of Tourism (DoT) has the answer, through the biggest travel event of the year — the Travel Tour Expo 2003 (TTE 2003).

The TTE which begins today and culminates on Feb. 9 (Sunday) at the Megatrade Halls 1 and 2 of the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong adopts the theme “Bringing You the World”. It aims to make travel more accessible to budget-conscious holiday-seekers.

Now on its 10th year, the expo is now known among frequent-goers as the “tiangge” of travel with over a hundred exhibitors from both local and inter

ational travel organizations offering amazingly low rates on best-selling destinations, special promo packages, fare discounts, extra night accommodations and other innovative promotions from the participating airlines, hotels, resorts and cruise liners, available only during the Expo.

A line-up of fun-filled activities are also scheduled to be held every half hour to make the TTE 2003 an even

t-to-remember. Visitors can learn more about visa procedures in the embassy fora, enjoy cultural presentations or join games and win fabulous hourly raffle prizes, such as round-trip airline tickets.

Relentless in their efforts to rev-up tourism in the country, the organizers led by chairperson Annette Feliciano and co-chairman Ricky Ordoñez, are bent on setting up a new benchmark for TTE2003.

Some 52,000 people are expected to show up this year with on-site sales expected to hit R75 million.
