This January, celebrate the rich colors and tradition, the merry thumping of feet and dance revelry as ABS-CBN Regional Network Group (RNG) brings an all-out festival blow-out featuring four of the country’s finest, much awaited celebrations: Cebu’s Sinulog; Kalibo’s Ati-atihan; Negros’ Kabankalan and Iloilo’s Dinagyang.
With ABS-CBN as its official media partner, Dinagyang festival becomes extra-special with network-initiated events like the "Sadya Sadya Tan, Kapamilya’’ at the ABS-CBN compound (Jan. 20) and ABS-CBN Hinugyaw 2005 free concert (Jan. 21) at the SM City Park, RNG’s radio station M.O.R. (My Only Radio) will also fly in top artists like Bamboo, Kitchie Nadal and Urban Dub to the region for a series of free concerts. ABS-CBN and Studio 23 stars will also visit Cebu and Iloilo to join the revelers.
ABS-CBN also sponsors the "Dinagyang Beat competition.’’ The food festival by the Iloilo Hotels Resort & Restaurant Association (Jan. 20, 21 and 23, Delgado St., Iloilo City), and takes part in the "Kasadyang’’ and "Ati-atihan’’ competitions, both on Jan. 23 at the Freedom Grandstand in Iloilo.
Filipinos here and abroad may experience RNG’s first salvo for 2005 via updates and festival specials, which will be aired live nationwide on ABS-CBN 2, Studio 23, the regional stations and M.O.R., and worldwide through The Filipino Channel (TFC) Direct’s Pinoy Central TV.
