Aside from Mayon Volcano, the Bicol Region introduces its latest travel destination, the Misibis Residential Resort, a new haven that has been crowned as Bicol’s own stretch of paradise.

This world-class beachfront spa resort with its long stretch of fine white sand is now the pride of the Bicolanos, specially Elizaldy "Zaldy" Co, who developed the coastal barangay of Misibis into a paradise resort to rival world destinations like Phuket, Bali and the Maldives.

Misibis Spa Resort and Residences is touted to be the next world-class tourist destination in the country, a claim that will be boosted with the planned construction of the new international airport in Barangay Alobo in nearby Daraga town.

It offers a panoramic view of Mayon Volcano, Sula Channel, which is a galleon and ship sanctuary; Pototan Cave in Batan Island, known for its pools and underground rivers; the Bacman geothermal site and Nag-asu Lake.

Reigning Miss Earth Priscilla Meirelles de Almeida, 21, a medical student from Amazona, Brazil, graced the ribbon cutting ceremony, inaugurating the Resort. The event is one of the activities attended by the new Miss Earth and her court following their coronation. Together with Almeida were Murielle Celimene of Martinique (Miss Air 2004), Stephanie Kahala Lesage of Tahiti (Miss Water 2004) and Yanina Gonzales of Paraguay (Miss Fire 2004).

Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal and Co’s mother Farida also graced the event.

With first-class amenities and hotel suites at its Venezia Hotel, which can house 350 guests, Misibis promises to be not just a resort but a traveler’s paradise.
